Dr. Vanessa Nieves was born and raised in beautiful Caribbean island of Puerto Rico(an USA common wealth).
She CUM Laude(graduated with honors) a bachelors degree in natural sciences with major in biology at the University of Sacred Heart, PR. She participated in medical research at the school of medicine -University of PR. She was president of the biology society. She is one of the few students of natural sciences to ever receive and be honored with the prestigious medal portico-which is presented to highly distinguished university students excelling in both academics and leadership. While in college she mentored high school students for college entrance exam preparation and worked in the Colette’s microbiology lab assisting professors with medical tests h She was member of the student government and assisted in various community outreach programs and volunteering natural disaster.
In 1991, she was accepted at the prestigious New York college of Podiatric Medicine. She was president of the woman’s podiatry society. She volunteered in the medical stations for city’s runners marathon and along with classmates she provided free foot care for senior citizens centers in the city.
In 1996 she completed her residency training in Podiatric orthopaedics at the department of veterans affaires medical center-East Orange , NJ.
In 1996, she became licensed to practice Podiatric Medicine in the state of Florida. During this period(1986- 2013) she was the only Hispanic foot doctor providing foot care in the central Florida region.
During first three years after completing her residence and being Fl licensed she avidly became a rising star in her field. Being the first and only female podiatrist in central FL for 22 years in row. She dedicated all her efforts to outreach and educate everyone but specially minority groups who lacked knowledge of the field of podiatry as were the most vulnerable to foot ailments/diseases. She mentored and until this day does mentors diabetic patients in the community about foot care and is still a leader in her field for preventing amputations and promoting smart longevity among her patients. She does this by empowering patients with easy to built into daily life routines of healthy mental and physical fitness and nutrition.
Dr. Nieves founded her private practice in January 2000 and quickly opened a total of four locations. Serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.
In 2007 she was named woman of the year by a local news paper ‘Mujer de éxito’ woman of Sucess.
Dr Nieves is highly regarded by her peers and has been an inspiration to her three daughters, all who had Purdue’s college degrees, and to Girl Scouts troops through her seven years mentorship as a troop coleader at the Citrus Council Orlando chapter where she colead hundred of girls to be leaders in their community.
Dr. Nieves and associates received support by the communities they serve and until today Dr. Nieves is happy to still say she attributes her success for her ongoing passion for helping her patients wellbeing and placing them first. Dr. Nieves is a life long learner who always implements innovator diagnostics and technology resources to provide cutting edge outcomes in her treatment plans.
Her office was Awarded in 2007 Hispanics chamber of commerce central FL chapter Hispanic business of the year -finalist, the prestigious Don Quijote awards.

Dr. Vanessa Nieves, was recently awarded top 5 business rate-Podiatrist September 2025, recognized by Google reviews ranking.
5/18/26 was awarded America’s Best in Medicine Magazine -Foot & Ankle Specialist in Orlando, FL selected as 2% top in her field.
