Dr. Geovanny Chico was born and raised in US commonwealth Puerto Rico.

Graduated from University of Sacred Heart Puerto Rico in 1991.

Bachelors natural sciences biology major. He participated in undergraduate research with the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Medicine Medical Center. He was Secretary for the students biology society. He was elected student representative chair for the university student government. Volunteered in student led community recovery efforts after hurricane disaster relief.

Pursued degree in Podiatric medicine from the prestigious New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1995. During his medical courses received accolades among few other students for achieving perfect score in anatomy and pathology courses. He copublished a paper clinical case “Rare case of lichen sclerosis” in the famed publication Journal of American Podiatric Medical association 12/2024. Volunteered at the medical tent in several marathons runners city of NY and Boston and provided foot care screenings along with fellow classmates in various inner city nursing homes. Awarded first prize on STJ orthotics lab essay completion in heel pain research.

Post doctorate degree at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center East Orange New Jersey Podiatric ortopédics residency in 1996.

In 11/1996 became licensed to practice Podiatric medicine in the state of Florida. Throughout his successful career, Dr. Chico enjoys most, providing compassionate and expert foot care to nursing/long term care residents. Staff podiatrist consultant for Healthdrive Corporation and Insight Healthcare both nursing homes practices 1996-2003 covering central Florida regions. Home visiting consultant providing care to the most fragile patients unable to seek care outside their homes.

Associate staff physician at the Center for Foot and Ankle Medicine, PA practices 2003-2015, 2019-present, providing exceptional and compassionated care to patients of central Florida communities and nursing homes residents. Collaborated with practice founder, Dr. Vanessa Nieves, DPM in developing four locations serving central Florida communities. Leading and outreaching communities by participating as a frequent speaker at local health fairs, including the American diabetes association, promoting foot health and preventing legs amputations through education and wellness check ups. In the private practice Dr. Chico enjoys all aspect of providing foot care but enjoys focusing in healing complex cases of diabetic skin ulcers, by being a member of the wound care association were he continues to learn to apply innovative limb savage and wound care techniques to achieve healing in his patients. To this day, Dr. Chico continues to be highly regarded by his patients, staff and colleagues as a caring and empathetic physician.

Dr. Chico has been board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine since 2006, and achieved diplomate status. Fellow American assoc of wound care specialists. American Podiatric Medical association member since 2006. Florida Podiatric Medical Association member since 2010. Past Secretary and active member central Florida podiatry society. Community involvement: empowering youth along its his three then young daughters. Robotics middle school team-mentor for University of Florida’s 4H youth clubs in Orlando. FL 2016-2017. Odyssey of the Mind coach middle school team in 2016. Team parent judge for Speech And Debate Teams Eastern Region High Schools Division 2016-2018. Girls Scouts Citrus Council parent volunteer 2012-2017.
