Posture and Rehabilitation
Posture and Rehabilitation Near You
Long hours at a desk, frequent driving, repetitive work, exercise, and other daily activities can influence how your body moves and feels. If stiffness, discomfort, weakness, or changes after an injury are making everyday activities more difficult, a movement and rehabilitation assessment may help.
At The Feel Good Doc, we provide posture and rehabilitation near you with care based on your symptoms, health history, movement, lifestyle, and goals. Dr. Walter E. Mendoza evaluates how your body moves and develops a personalized approach to help improve function and support your return to work, exercise, sports, and other activities.
What Is Posture and Rehabilitation Care?
Posture and rehabilitation care focuses on how you move during everyday activities and what may be limiting your comfort or function.
During an evaluation, we may look at your mobility, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and movement patterns. We also consider how you sit, stand, lift, exercise, work, and do other activities that are important to you.
The goal is not to achieve one “perfect” posture. Bodies are designed to move, and staying in any one position for too long can become uncomfortable. Instead, we focus on helping you develop movement strategies, strength, and mobility that fit your needs.
What Can Rehabilitation Include?
Your rehabilitation plan depends on what we find during your evaluation. It may include:
Therapeutic exercises for strength and mobility
Stretching and flexibility exercises
Movement and body-mechanics guidance
Balance and stability exercises
Advice for lifting and repetitive tasks
Workstation or driving-position adjustments
Home exercises and activity recommendations
Chiropractic or soft-tissue care when appropriate
We may adjust your plan over time based on your progress and how you respond to care.
What Movement and Posture Patterns May Be Evaluated?
Everyone develops different movement habits. We may evaluate patterns such as:
Forward head positioning
Rounded shoulders
Prolonged slouched sitting
Uneven weight distribution
Limited hip or spinal mobility
Reduced strength or stability
Changes in movement after an injury
Repetitive work or exercise patterns
A posture or movement pattern is not automatically a problem simply because it looks different. We consider whether it relates to your symptoms, restricts movement, or makes important activities more difficult.
When Should You Consider Rehabilitation?
An evaluation may be helpful if you experience:
Recurring neck, shoulder, or back discomfort
Stiffness after sitting or standing for long periods
Difficulty returning to activity after an injury
Weakness or reduced mobility
Discomfort during work or repetitive tasks
Changes in movement after an auto or workplace injury
Difficulty with lifting, bending, or other daily activities
Problems returning to exercise or sports comfortably
If symptoms are severe, rapidly worsening, or accompanied by significant weakness, loss of sensation, or new loss of bladder or bowel control, seek prompt medical evaluation.
Sports and Injury Rehabilitation
Dr. Mendoza has experience working with athletes and sports-related injuries. An injury can affect strength, mobility, coordination, and movement even after the initial pain begins to improve.
We assess how the injury affects the activities you want or need to perform and may use progressive exercises, movement guidance, and other appropriate treatments to support your rehabilitation.
Our practice also evaluates musculoskeletal concerns related to auto accidents and workplace injuries. Your rehabilitation plan is based on the specific injury, your current abilities, and the demands of your work or daily routine.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Your visit begins with a conversation about your symptoms, health history, daily activities, previous injuries, work demands, and goals.
We may assess your range of motion, strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and movement during specific activities. Depending on your needs, we may also look at how you sit, lift, bend, walk, or move during work or exercise.
Once we understand what is affecting your function, we can explain our findings and recommend appropriate next steps. Your plan may include exercises, changes to daily habits, hands-on care, or a combination of approaches.
Small Changes Can Support Better Movement
Improving how you feel does not usually require holding yourself in one rigid position throughout the day.
Depending on your needs, we may recommend changing positions regularly, taking movement breaks, adjusting your workstation, modifying how you lift or perform repetitive tasks, or practicing specific exercises at home.
The most useful changes are the ones that address your individual needs and are realistic enough to maintain.

FAQs
Can posture be permanently corrected?
Posture is not a single fixed position that needs to be permanently corrected. It changes with your activity, strength, mobility, environment, and habits. We focus on helping you develop comfortable movement strategies and address limitations that may be affecting your function.
Is poor posture always the cause of pain?
No. Posture may contribute to discomfort in some situations, but pain can have many causes. We consider your symptoms, health history, activity level, movement, and examination findings rather than assuming posture is the cause.
Will I receive exercises to do at home?
You may. If home exercises are appropriate, we can show you how to perform them and explain how they fit into your rehabilitation plan.
How quickly will I notice changes?
There is no standard timeline. Progress depends on your condition, activity level, goals, consistency with your plan, and how you respond to care.
Is posture and rehabilitation the same as physiotherapy?
They can overlap. Physiotherapy can address a broad range of movement and rehabilitation needs, while posture-focused rehabilitation places particular attention on movement habits, strength, mobility, body mechanics, and daily activities. We can determine which approach fits your needs.
Do I need imaging before starting rehabilitation?
Not necessarily. We first evaluate your symptoms and movement. We consider imaging if there is a specific clinical reason or if the results could affect your care.
